My TEDx talk idea is based on exactly this predictive coding phenomenon as it relates to early pain experiences!

I’ve seen the rise in use of things like ketamines and psilocybins for the treatment of chronic pain. The author’s argument here that the mechaninism of action might actually occur via a lifting of our predictions - is highly plausible.
